Here is the car I got........

2005 CTS-V with about 300 miles on it. Steel Gray.

I paid $42,700, and best of all, NO TAXES. Car will be $43,600 out the door shipped to Phx. with all documentation fees.

I saved $4000 over GM employee pricing on 2005 cars, and another $3000 by not paying taxes.

BTW, there is a new rear suspension bushing to combat wheelhop. Make sure you have it or get it soon.

Yep, the dealership promised me they'd have it installed on the car before I got it; it's part of a TSB from GM.

Unless you've got a loophole I haven't heard of you'll have to end up paying taxes on it when you register it.

Nice car. :secret:

If you buy a car out of state from a dealership, the dealership doesn't charge you taxes.

The state gets their pound of flesh when you go to register the car.

At least that's what happened when I bought my TA in Florida.

That is what I voted for as well.. The Viper and C6 are cool no doubt.. but you get 4 sets and the luxury of a Caddy..

Tough choice but in the end I think the CTS-V will be more enjoyable in the long run.

With that said you got a hell of a deal.. Congrats on the purchase.. awesome ride and very cool color.

It's Stealth Grey, not Steel Grey. I test drove a car exactly like that at the dealership here in Bham. I'd love to have one for a DD. Was that one used or a demo car? How did you get almost 10k off the sticker?

BTW, the first year of the CTS-V was black and silver only. Now, they've added Stealth Grey (actually looks blue-green to me), white and maroon ($995 option).

Congrat's on the new toy Matt. I was kinda wondering if you'd be able to reach the pedals in the 'Vette or Viper anyhow..... :o

:wall: j/k man. Seriously, nice looking car! I know you said you won't do TOO much as far as mods go, (mild 6 psi TT kit) but I trust you are going to upgrade the rear end? :)

I like how the seats have suede inserts so your ass doesn't slide all around on the slick leather. Especially good for the back seat so when you take people places they won't bitch if take a curve to fast since they don't have any side bolsters.

Sweet car too

Awesome looking ride! Only thing I question is the no tax thing. In AZ the only way to avoid paying tax is to buy froma private party. If it's from a dealer you have to pay your taxes when you register for the plates. If you have a loophole, please share.

I'm pretty sure you're going to get nailed when you go to get tags. I sure freakin did :( The total for my plates and tags on my 99 Z (A 6 year old car!) came to a whopping $408 :nilly: and on top of that I had to pay for emissions (yeah I had to anyway) and a damn VIN check :thumbdn: All of this because I bought the car out of state and there's this nice Colorado tax that nails you for a certain % of the original sticker value  Talk about a HUGE crock of shit :ian:

The car itself looks awesome but the cheesy starship enterprise plastic they cover it with isn't cool at all.
