I don't believe there are any major differences between the '04 and the '05, but yes... the 2006 model is getting the LS2 instead of the LS6.

All the new cars have torque management on them, even the Vette.

well then, which car will be "faster" 05 ls6 or 06 ls2?

yeah :( so you need a reflash, but that's not a big deal. it's nice to have an extra 20 or so cubic inches :D

any word as to whether or not the new Z06 will have it?

and you're right, every fast car from every domestic has TM. at least with GM the code is fairly easy to crack. They still can't remove the TM from the dcx cars.

so what exactly does TM do?

saves driveline parts by cutting power at launch and during shifts.

Cuts timing during shifts to reduce load on the drivetrain

it's done so shit doesn't break. anyway, it's not difficult to get around on the GM's, so it doesn't concern me a whole lot. :woot:

Haven't heard anything yet. I hope not.

From the mag times, its running 11's (except R&T). At least the press cars don't have it or its very mild. I could live with that.

yeah. he bought that car outright, his other cars (other than the 64 vette) are leases. that's the only 4-door car he has, so he needs it to cart around his mother in. also, he regularly has to drive from ft. lauderdale to tampa or orlando and takes the V so as to not mess up the CL55. must be nice to have a cts-v as your beater :D

r&t must've had a drunken midget running the car. the other times i was impressed by, and i could see a 10 from the factory if the cars run that well

That guy must test drive all their cars. I remember seeing a 13.9 out of a 98 SS and a 14.7 out of a 99+ GT. :lame:
