Who has installed their own Hal 12 ways up front?

I have a very easy question. When you installed your hals, did you put the factory dust covers on them? I didn't, and I just want to be sure that is how to install them. It said nothing in the VERY limited instructions with these about any type of covered protection for the shaft.

I helped a friend install his and we didn't use the dust covers. I haven't seen anyone running them either.

I did. They have them on there for a reason. Also they help protect the shock against bottoming out. Do the job right and use them for peace of mind.
The rear ones won't fit over the shocks so you need to get hold of a second front pair.;)
