At some angles, the angles of the formula just look awesome, but at other it just looks so boring.

I always wanted a T/A, but I couldn't pass up a deal on my formy (12,500 for a 00 with 22,000). They were the only dealer that would finance me - beggars can't be choosers..

What do you guys think? I'm thinking just front clip, side skirts & rear valance. delete all the badges. I don't know about the reaching for the stars spoiler though.

Shouldn't be a hard job, no?

Friends of Formulas will come and get you.

Why not sell it and buy a T/A?

There are no Trans Am around here, the closest one is like 40 miles away, but it has over 60K on it. and they are ask 16K

Plus, I doubt I can get away with getting fianced for another car. So I'm stuck with this one..

What if you throw a WS.6 hood on it or something? Will keep the sleek lines of the Formi but make it a little more agressive :yup: Probably cheaper and easier as well. I have always wanted a WS.6 Formi :yup:

I really like the Raptor hood, but Evyl and others says the quality control is bad :(

I've seen some pics that look good, so I may just give it a shot anyway.

I say don't convert it into a Trans Am. Formulas are hard to find to begin with. You should think about adding some wheels, a Ram Air hood, tinted windows, and maybe even a custom paint job/scheme of some sort. Make it different than everyone else's car.

ROFL

I agree, I think it should be kept as a formula look, but I'm not one to talk because I'm looking to change from a stock TA hood to a WS6 hood. And everyone seems to do that, so if you love your car, do what ya want to it;)

I've seen some pics that look good, so I may just give it a shot anyway. I have a raptor hood and have had it about 3-4 years and never had any complaints on it. Quality is great and fitment is good. Here's pics www.cardomain.com/id/pewtertransam

I've had two Raptors... My Trans Am, the fit was acceptable but not perfect.... My Formula, the fit is awful. The hood is too thick and there have to be large gaps so they headlights will open. It does not line up very well at all.

You can see in this pic the areas that it's off.

It is your car. I'd say do what you truly want to do so that you'll be happy. Don't let anybody talk you out of doing what you do. You'll always get the popular "just sell it and buy a ________" comment.

I like the way formulas look, but there is just something about a T/A :)

TA's look better IMHO. They have more options too! Who cares how rare it is? Well, obviously some do, but I think it's silly to keep a car stock for the sake of "preserving" it. If you want to convert it, do it!

im sure its been discussed but i cant find it, what suspension (if any) and engine (horsepower/torque) differences are there in the formula/forumla ws6/ trans am/trans am ws6 (1998-2002) thanks so much!!!

Engine is exactly the same between formi and TA for each year. You got a larger opening in the lower airbox with the WS.6. Suspension and wheel size changed per model. 16" wheels on non-WS.6 TA's and Formi's, 17" wheels on WS.6's. Beefier swaybars on the WS.6's as well. Springs may have been a bit stiffer as well but I may be mistaken.

Formulas are more rare.
