i have a comp 216/218 .535"/.535" 112LSA in my truck, it idles decent but i haven't drilled the tb plate or adjusted anything else either. it makes great low end power, and the above 3k power is sick. i'm running 01 LS6 springs with it and havn't had any troubles yet. looking at an F1 cam with 918s in the near future for the 5.3 and then swap that into the 6.0 when it's ready for install.

I am running a 2000 Stock C-5 cam. 198/207 .500/.500 115.5LSA with my stock springs. Feels like the stock cam from idle-3000 but pulls much harder from there up to my 6100 shift point. Doesn't fall on its face after 5K like the stock truck cam. My ET droped ~.3 on motor and picked up ~3.5mph. Not bad for $25 and a few hours in the driveway.

running a 234/232 598/595 115+1 with springs, push rods and rod bolts. this is in an otherwise stock 6.0
i had to do some tuning to get it to idle and drill the plate to get it to drive nice but since doing that it has ran great, hasn't died once. it is kinda dogy till about 4k then it feels like someone hit the nitrous, pulls real nice all the way to my 6800 shift point. it would really like to go a little higher but i haven't grown the balls to go any higher just yet.
this cam was sized for a turbo 409, i thought it would be fun to see how it runs on a 6.0, prety suprized how well it runs, my truck is a daily driver and this cam runs for for that.

I have a 212/218 522/529 114 on mine. It idles great but you can still notice it's in there. I had tuned by Nelson Performance using ls1 edit. I really like since I did not notice any low end loss of power.

i'd consider something like my 6.0 cam big....238/242 .592/.595 112 pretty big for a stock cube motor to me....but a helluva nitrous grind...can't wait to run it.

was thinking about using 918s, but i don't know if i want to be that close to the line. i'll probably end up going with the ISKY 295-D (i think) that are rated to something like .650".....

I agree with ya. Pushing the 918s to their max capability wouldn't let me sleep well at night either.

The cam I have in my sig is awesome for my 5.3! The mid-range torque is a huge difference over stock and the top-end horsepower is very noticable as well. Oh yeah, my cam peaks about 5700 and then drops a little. I'm shifting at 5900rpm. It had very bad idle issues at first, then I took it to Brad @ B&M and he fixed the idling problem by messing with the throttle body's butterfly. Oh yeah, the base line dyno was 229rwhp. After FMS tuning, 270rwhp.:D

We pretty similiar in our conservative tastes. :) Thats the type of cam I would consider going with once my warranty expires. I have always worried about broken springs so a lift in that area would give me piece of mind.

I'm running 02' Z06 springs with my cam, seems to match up nicely. I'm gonna be running the same springs with my extra set of heads when I send them to Absolute Speed.
