I am selling my black 1996 Impala SS with less than 57,000 original miles. The car is all original (except for the new parts listed below), and I am the 2nd owner of the car which has every option that was available for 1996 except for the CD player (so it only has an AM/FM/cassette). The only reason I am selling this car is because I have 5 vehicles and don't have the room for two of them. For those of you not familiar with the mid 90's Impala SS, here are a few facts:

Impala SS's were based on the Chevrolet Caprice chassis and had the Corvette-derived LT1 engine with 260HP and 330 ft lbs of Torque hooked up to a 4L60E 4-speed automatic transmission and 3.08:1 limited-slip rear differential. The high-performance suspension is derived from the Caprice cop cars and designed for an extremely smooth, comfortable ride while also handling very well! The Impala SS also has huge 4-wheel ventilated antilock disc brakes, 17" wheels, quick-ratio power steering, also performance springs, sway bars, and gas shocks. The interior features almost every luxury option available including:
Leather front bucket/ rear bench seats, power everything, center shifter console, and polarized rear-view mirror.

Overall, the car is in extremely good condition with only a few minor flaws that I will try to describe as accurately as possible:

1. The body/paint: There are only 2 small dings on the entire car ( one is on the rear driver’s quarter panel and the other is on the passenger front fender), both are barely noticeable unless you are really looking for them. The entire original paint job looks great except for a couple of "cloudy" spots from being parked under a tree (the original owner did this) on the rear left corner of the hood and the roof above where the driver sits. The cloudy spots could probably be polished out by a good detailer, but otherwise not very noticeable unless you are specifically looking for it.

2. Mechanical: Excellent mechanical condition!

3. Interior: A very small hole on the side of the drivers seat, much smaller than a dime. Also a few light stains in the headliner towards the rear of the car.

New parts installed recently:
1. 4 brand new BFG G-Force KDWS 255/50/ZR17 tires.
2. New brake pads.
3. New evaporative purge canister and purge control valve (Check Engine light fixed).
4. New original GM upper dash (the original was faded and brittle).
5. New aftermarket carpet and floor mats.
6. Belts
7. Rear differential fluid and gasket

I am asking $12,500 and the car is located in Charlotte, NC. Please send email to me at steve_v@alltel.net if you want more information. Info posted below:

This car is still for sell, I am surprised that someone hasn't snatched it up for what I am asking. It drives like new!
