Damn! That's alot of work. I've got my hands full chasing down the bugs in the 69 Z.... temp gauge, tach, etc..

Sweet car! Is yours a real RA IV? Numbers match? Either way - it should be AWESOME when completed...

Best of luck!

Glad to see you made it over, Vlad:)

I had no idea you had a 1st Gen:confused:

Hartz, yes, it's a real numbers matching RAIV:) (1 of 25 LB's)

However, it's far from stock, so it won't be worth near as much as the concours deal on Ebay:\

The original block has been bored .030" over, fitted with an Eagle Stroker Crank, Eagle Ultralite H-Beam Rods, Forged Ross Pistons, Crane Roller Cam, complete roller valvetrain, mildly ported RAIV heads, yadda, yadda, etc.

I replaced the original M20 Trans with an M21 Close Ratio box, but I still have it sitting in my neighbor's garage in NY:cool:

New mods will be a set of Doug's LT headers flowing into a stock Crossflow exhaust with a pair of Q-Tecs right after the collectors:)

Also getting a Rodney Red Aluminum Radiator, Billet pullies and Twin Electric fans...

As for suspension, I already picked up a set of Calvert Split Leafs and a pair of Cal-Trac bars:cool:

Don't really need a 4-Link conversion since I'll be running stock GoodYear PolyGlas rubber....

I can't wait!!:D

Nice project. How long and how much money do figure it will take before its done?

I give it 6 to 8 weeks before it hits the booth:cool:

As for money involved, I just have to pay for supplies:)

Labor and space is FREE:D

Yep, I gots me 2... a hiz and herz Z/28 mine being the 68! The 69 has some bugs I need to chase down. Like the temp gauge, tach, pinging. Hopefully I can start resolving these once the weather gets warmer. (Unheated garge).

I remember when I was younger, the gal across the street from me had a yellow 455 SD TA - it had the single head lights too - I always loved that car!!
Good luck with the resto!

Very nice resto car. Just coming off finishing my '68. Was thinking of selling it and going for my next project. Most of the fun for me is in doing the restoring. Have my eye on a nice '77 T/A - a la Smokey and The Bandit.

I just love old Firebirds.:D I wanna save them all.

Thank god my Olds is from Cali. No rust and no body work are needed. That T/A had some rot in it.

He also has a white RAIV and said he sold the LB because it was too much of a trailer queen, but still wants another Blue....
