When I turn my headlights on, my driver's side one sometimes won't open. I have to turn them on and off like 4 or 5 times before the bitch will open. Also, that same healight makes a significantly louder noise than the other one when it opens/closes. Is there an easy fix for this? lol  :help:

WELCOME to one of GM's F-Body many flaws!!!

You can try the Brass Headlight Gear swap... it works for some... i've tried it and it's only a temporary fix, you can also try taking out the stock nylon gear and turning it 180 degrees and re-installing it, (also only a temporary fix), or just go pick up a few new motors for about $160 each i think

the answers suck, but they are about your only options... :\

lol Thanks...I was hoping I wouldn't have to replace the motor but oh well, thats probably the best solution. :grumble:

you can try it the other ways... you might get a year or so out of it  that's about all i ever got... but when you buy the new motors your probably looking at the same life span there as well so your screwed either way... :\

lol It sucks that the motors are so shitty...but I didn't realize the other options could keep them working that long, I'll have to give it a try. Thanks again.

Hell, just do what J-Thong used to do with his '98 Formula, turn the lights on, and jump out and pull the light up.

Definatley the headlight motor. Dealt with it quite a few times. For a while i had to turn on my lights with the window down, so i could lift the drivers side up to the right height. That was not fun

I just had both window motors replaced and the bill was $780 at the dealer. Good thing I have a warranty. I paid $50 and left.

I've replaced the headlight motors 4-5 times under warranty as well and they cost about $300 installed at the dealer.

My warranty has saved me so much money and those two things alone.

I replaced my crapy running/fog lights with a set of blazertechs and did the Courtesy light MoD (http://www.ls2.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=213296) to keep the headlights from popin up on their own. Most of my night time driving is done in the city so there is no need for the UGLY headlights to be up anyway ;) If you need them simply turn them on manually but most nights I leave them down, saves wear and tear on the motor/gears :)
