don't usually drive the baby to work (why let it sit out in the parking lot all day for 20 minutes of driving?).
so today there is no chance of rain, figured i'd bring her in. now there are 2 spots of construction on my normal route to work. so of course i take the country roads today to bypass everything....
or try to....
instead i hit the following....
1 - gravel spill at intersection
2 - sod farm out loading sod, semi trucks pulling onto road from field - dropping mud and dirt down the road.
3 - today happened to be the day a business got a new driveway entrance - so the road was partially blocked and asphalt trucks were there dumping asphalt. (i *almost* did a uturn right then to head home but figured i was almost at work, i can't go back home through alll the crap again).
4 - get to the office - for like the first time this year the sprinklers are on.
so i guess on the way home i'm gonna take the freeway (the '98 doesn't go on the freeway... too many chances of rock chips). :pissed:
i did take over the garage here at the office for the morning :wall: luckily i got here before the owner today... when the sprinklers quit i'll go trade him spots

:hmm: Do you actually drive the car? Or just wash it and let it sit in the garage? ;)
Sucks for you; letting your car waste away like that...
It's a 98 formula.... they're not rare, they're not hard to find, they wont ever be worth anything in your lifetime.... so why not drive the thing? cares if it gets rock chips? it's a freaking car, and surely wont EVER be collectible in your life time....

collectable to me. i could care less what they're worth to some one else (except the insurance company ;) ). same with the '89.... i want em, they're my babies. next is a '79 anniv 4 speed.

she's not perfect... bought her brand new in '98 with 5 miles on her. i just passed the 20k mark a couple weeks ago ;)
i drive my cars. they sit for the winter - but they come out in the good weather. i just don't drive them in the winer, in the rain, anytime i'll have to leave them sit in a parking lot or bad part of town... no need to take the chance of any door dings or anything ;) :dunno: i have plenty to drive... i like driving the rusty nisssan just as much as my firebirds.

Same feeling here. Only i dont have anything but my baby to drive. Sucks cause she gets rock chips and stuff. But i figure drive her now, buy another car, get her repainted and stick her in the garage. :D

 Thats how I feel about my beater but not my Birds.I treat my 02 like my 70,I dont drive them in the rain,in the winter,I didnt drive them to work.My cars are like having two boats, you wouldnt take them out in the rain or in the snow.
Oh and my 70 is worth big bucks but even if she wasnt I would still drive her how I do now.
Also my 02 is my last new car so I want mine to look as good as the day I bought her.
Smiley take of the tar and the Bird will be fine.
