usually you get something that will bolt right in... like if you have a 305 you get a badass 350 that uses your old mounts.. blah blah blah.

It'll go in the same way as an engine that didn't come in a crate.

You can't use other forums slang here, not many people are going to know wtf you're talking about.

link to said example of said kit (i dont care what kit, just any kit) if you're being serios, it wouldnt work so well with an escort man. fwd + ls7 = i dont even know what but it wont be effecient.

Welcome back LS1 pimp!

Seriously, there is a lot better money you could spend than on an LS7, the difficulty of the swap would not be worth the trouble. ALso, I think you would want to get a built transmission behind it.

We don't know what you plan to put it in thus far... but it better be a free rolling chassis C6.

Umm, the 7.0L block has the same external dimensions as an LS1 block, so Im gonna assume you could use LS1 Motor mounts, LS1 driveshaft, and the electronics comewith it...

You have to learn somewhere. No harm in asking.

Is this guy serious About this escort shit???

Ok, here's how to do it.

Get an alston chassis or something similar for a ford escort.

Then you can mount ANY engine in the car.

Should only cost you about oh like say 80 grand to do it the right way..........and then it'd still be a stinkin escort.

Might as well hop up a civic.

what do expect us to write a step by step instruction, do some research and figure it out. You want to put a rwd engine in a fwd car, and you have no idea how? you might want to start with a simple swap first.

This is better suited in a Tech Forum.....

Posting something like this in the BnG only warrants these kinds of responses.

I got a better idea, buy a C6 ZO6 because there is no way in hell i'd try to stuff an LS7 and its dry oiling system into a escort.

The LS2 can be adapted to older cars and street rods.
A handy reference guide (LS1 book # 88959384 See link below)is available to help install the engine in older cars with minimal guesswork.
88959384 - LS1 Engine Kit Installation Guide Although written with the LS1 in mind, the dimensional and casting similarities between it and the LS2 make this handy guide useful when swapping a new LS2 into an older vehicle. It illustrates all you need to do to make it fit. The guide includes notes and technical explanations on necessary parts, along with part numbers you can order from your GM dealer to get the job done easily.

I can't wait till I see the first LS-7 setting in a 1st gen Camaro, just lying there patiently waiting for the 1st opportunity to just rip the rear tires to shreds

it would probably be cheaper to by a new z06 and a bunch of bondo and make it look like an escort...

Is that phrase even allowed on this forum?
