I want to learn how to use compounds and polishes to remove scratches. Can you guys recommend any sites?

to get scratches and swirls out of my car, i use 3m perfect III.
it works great. no more swirls on my hood from wetsanding (DOH!)
and took all my keyscratches out within minutes
just apply with a rag. start off with a good amount of pressure, and as it rubs in, rub it softer and softer.
then wipe it off with a clean rag

these are deep scratches... the kind you get from strollers + kids bikes etc... You think the 3m stuff will work?

if you can actually feel the scratches a compound won't help.

Yes you can feel the scratches. What do you recommend?
New clear coat?

I would think if they are that deep then your gonna need some help from a PRO.... I would think a little wet sanding and a new clear coat would fix you right up...

yep... if you can feel it with your fingernail then it's really time for a professional unless you want to do some touchup type work.....

Thanks guys. I've made an appointment at a shop to have the car professionally done.

Glad to hear. I'm planning on having my deep scratches fixed and the whole car color sanded to rid myself of orange peel. Got quoted 300$ by the body shop I really like here to do it.
