I have the following perf. mods

longtube headers w/o cats
airlid
predator programed cpu
borla exhaust
10" X 17" wheels
Nitto drags.
Sub frame conn.

now I'm sure i'd pull a 04 GTO but what about an 05?
(consider equally good drivers)

It all depends on the traction capabilites. Traction is where the action is!

If the 05 is BONE STOCK you can probably stay with it and maybe take it if traction is good like the Surfersaid. I saw time slips of an 05 that had 500 miles on it and was an A4 that ran 13.32 at 104 mph in 78 degree weather with a little wheel hop. Under better conditions with some cool air the car might run 13.0's

You'd pull both of them pretty easily

04 GTO you should have no problems on. A4 and you possibly will get the jump on the 05 GTO but it would begin to reel you in. M6 might edge it off with a good launch.

If you get a good launch, I'd say you'll take him by around a car. I have basically the same mods as you and I ran a best of 12.87 at 110.6 while spinning only 1 tire off the line (rear end took a crap on me shortly after)

lol yea... it's good stuff. I'm debating on whether to get a new 10 bolt for free, or going out and dropping the money on a moser 12-bolt.

Did it break at the track or just ragging on it all the time on the street?

It's my worst fear to break the rearend thats why i stopped modding till I get a 12 bolt. what type of tires are you running when it happened?

It started making noises at the track. But I was able to drive it home before it got worse. It just was popping and making other scary noises. Oh and I was using Nitto DR's. I've had over 30 passes on the car by now, so I guess it was time for it to break :dunno:
