have you ben "hauling" anything in the hatch? check all the defroster lines and make sure there are no breaks in them. It could be a fuse, but I'm not sure where that fuse is :D I'd assume on the driverside "side" of the dash.

Ah, I guess I'm an expert on this... make sure none of the lines in the glass are cut.. then check the "connectors" which glue to the "matrix" of wires running on the glass - on the convertible there's one connector on each side.

Left connector on my 99 conv came off about a year after getting the car... they spent the next 2 years on various visits for other crap trying to get it to reglue .. trying the "ooh, GM just sent us this" latest adhesive crap, nothing ever worked.

About 4 months ago we managed to get the Dist Mgr to sign off on replacing the entire back 1/3rd of the convertible top, with the glass/defroster mechanism all new - since we had a documented failure of it and many attempts to fix it. So, $900 on GM's warranty later, it was fixed, and worked.

Go to use it yesterday, doesn't defrost. F-it. I truly give up on this car!

But.. thanks for letting me rant.. check wires, then the connectors that they are glued on OK.. then I dunno what else to try!

Man I'm happy not to have defrost sometimes. :D

All this time, I dunno what your location translates out to. Care to share? You must need defrost pretty bad.

Same thing happened to me a couple months ago. Little indicator light doesn't come but I still hear the clicking? It's pissing me off.

JMD: I'm in New Orleans.. usually around this time of year any exposed car gets fogged up windows, its really a pain to have to hose it off before driving anywhere. Something about the atmospheric conditions. No, cant build a garage to house it in ;)

Oh and I went and fiddled with it, one of the connectors came off the new top.. so maybe it'll work again.

Edit: I am the supreme dumbass.. I put in 30N 30W as my location (in the middle of the friggin ocean) - its now fixed to 30N 90W, New Orleans :help:
