How often do you change the brake fluid with clean fluid?

My '98 z28 has 44,700 miles and the fluid is black and dirty.

Is that harmful to the brake system?

hmmm my '01 has 46k her and the fluid isn't black and dirty like ur sayin ... mine still looks decent. If its as dirty as u say .... it might be time to flush ur system and put new stuff in there.

yeah it was actually dirty when I bought it at like 20,000 miles
