I bought a Dynomax ultra flo welded muffler this week from a local parts dealer. I then took it to my local Midas to have it installed. I don't know what sound I want to go with, so I had the guy down there weld adapaters to the pipe and clamp the muffler on so I can take the muffler off to switch out.

When the car was done, my first impression was the stock idle was a little louder and a little deeper. Leaving the building, low RPMs (500-1500) sound much deeper than stock. When at the light it got quiet again almost like stock(400-500). When accelerating, I hit 6k rpms and it sounds about like stock. I liked how the GM muffler sounded above 3k but I never normally get the rpms that high. At 70-75 mph there is no resonance. If you slow down and are lightly on the gas 61-64 mph there is some slight drone.

Overall it is not bad but I was hoping for a little louder but not loudmouth or flowmaster loud. And I didn't want quiet like magnaflow. So I guess it worked out.

Give it a little break in time.
