I have a 95 Firebird with the 3.4l and 5 speed. It's been a very reliable engine, no problems. It has about as much power as it has had problems...none

My truck has a 5.3 in it and it is decently quick for a large automobile, i've also noticed that salvaged 5.3/auto combos go for pretty cheap, so i think they'd make a nice combo :D

Is this switch feasable, or not worthwhile?

I think i would need to convert to an LS1 intake on the 5.3 to clear the hood wouldn't I? What problems would i have when it came to driveshafts? I take it i'd need to have a custom one made for sure, and i'd upgrade to a Z28/TA rear end at the same time with some decent gears.

Basically i'm wondering if this switch would be worthwhile or nickle and dime me to death?

Thanks for any input!

The wiring, motor mounts, & maybe cradle from a 98-02 f-body are going to work out better than those from a truck most likely. So you'll wanna compare the savings of the 5.3L vs. a 5.7L f-body swap, and then add in the things from the truck that won't work. It's reaaaallll hard to piece together a swap and end up spending less than just buying the bolt-in swap to begin with.

g'luck!
