To prevent people having to go over to the other board to find it, provided here is Jason Chromer's phone number in Florida to purchase optisparks for around (edit: $200 for vented and $300 for nonvented) plus shipping:

850-243-8826

Enjoy. I hope you don't need this number as much as I do. lol

Jason Cromer Leaving Sam Taylor
Just though I'd start to spread the word that I'm leaving Sam Taylor Buick Cadillac as of March 12th 2004 I will be relocating to Bill Seidele Chevrolet in Clermount, FL. There I will still offer GM parts at the same prices that I have been doing here. It's a much larger dealer and I will have someone there helping me. At Sam Taylor not only was I the internet guy I'm also the parts manager so the prices at Sam Taylor once I leave will no longer be. As soon as I get settled in down there I will post the new contact info. I'd just like to thank everone for the busniess over the past two years here and look forward to serving ya'll at the new dealership. Thanks, Jason Cromer

Just keeping everyone up to date.

It might be wise to edit the first post and state the $200 is for the vented, and $xxx for the unvented. Also might want to include the price to upgrade non to vented. Jason sells a package apparently.

Great initiative with this post.

I just got off the phone with him. $299 for the nonvented!! :ripped: Guess I'll have to stick to my $160 remanufactured Autozone cap...lol.

They are brand new GM parts that are the cheapest around. $300 for nonvented, $215 for vented.

non vented have less chance of getting water down in them i'm assuming?

Quite the contrary actually...the nonvented is the one that blows up the most frequently since the moisture gets trapped inside. Believe me, I just pulled mine off and it is NASTY inside:

I have a nonvented and am in the process of putting another one on...the conversion is just too long and expensive for me at this point.

I'm not sure about the lt4 conversion, but if you want to convert your opti to vented there are a bunch of things that need to get changed. There are specific websites that detail this process, but a good search of this forum should net you the results you are looking for. From what I understand, unless you go through several opti's per year, it's not really worth the time and expense,.

Why bother to replace the opti

There is a special group purchase going on for a Delteq System.
In the long run this system is cheaper then to having to replace the opti every so often.

you still need a functioning Opti to run the Delteq system ;) You just do not need a cap and rotor

The Adapter that was ask about is the Opti harness ;)

I think the opti wave of sales is over really. Now that MSD sells a cap and rotor kit @ jeggs. I would trust MSD on a distributor for sure plus im sure you wont hear anybody complaining on how thier ignition box fryed the stock unit anymore. I Dont think the deltech is worth the cash really.

there are alot more ignition options out there for us die hard lt1 guys now.....you can either go with the the coil pack conversion form delteq www.delteq.com (http://www.delteq.com) then there's the "Bulletproof" distributor from dynaspark http://www.dynotech-eng.com/dynaspark.htm now MSD has come out with the cap and rotor replacement for our cars, still got a little ways to go with my lt1 build up and still have to buy the d1 procharger kit so still have a little time to make up my mind.:drive: :burnout: :kneel: :drevil:

I'm never ordering anything from jason cromer again. I ordered an opti and waterpump, and when they shipped them, they just threw them each in a box and didnt use any type of packaging or anything, just each one in a seperate box that was being thrown around. :o
