First experience with a GTO this weekend

all i can say is ....WOW. that has to be the most comfortable car i have ever been in. the car just hugs and begs you not to get out. i do not have one bad thing to say about it, everything was perfect in it: from the suede on the doors, to the booming ass stereo (the best stock system i have ever heard).

any news on what they will be doing to the GTO's in the future. i wouldn't mind having one, but i heard they are getting a new engine and some appreance changes. anyone of the GTO experts know about this?

they are saying it might get an ls2, which i doubt is the case for the base low 30k model, i think they will have a hi-po version in the 40K+ region that borrows the C6 motor as well as appearance changes.

Well, spy shots suggest that the die-hard GTO fans have moved GM to put scoops on to the GTO's hood. Also, dual sided exhaust seems to be on deck. There is a possiblity of the AutoX body kit being a dealer installed option(which IMO is better then scoops).
There is a possiblity of the GTO using left over LS6 heads and cam. If Holden goes to the LS2 with the 05 models, then so will the GTO. If not, there is a strong possiblity of the GTO getting a performance model like a Judge or GXP or whatever, bringing the power to 400.
There is a possiblity of a vert model, but it would be only for the US market. There seems to be a massive move to verts and GM doesnt want to lose out. It would require a lot of moving around, and might not happen till 06.
