anyone know where to get or exactly what this is called for a 97+ firebird....its the upper dash part that has that large vent pointing up at the windshield. its the large hard plastic piece where i think they put the security light for cars that have an alarm. I tried doing a search for the part but not having much luck. mine has a slight crack on my drivers side by the A-pillar and I want to replace it. Anyone know how hard it is to take that piece out of the car? thanks

I believe $90 sounds about right for it, since it has been discussed before when people try to remove their's and it cracks. If you're replacing it I guess you wouldn't have to worry too much about it cracking. I took mine out without any trouble, didn't crack or anything. It's held on by clips and that plastic velcro (same stuff that holds on the fuse panel cover on the drivers side) Just pry it up a little all the way around and just keep working around a little at a time, instead of pulling one side all the way up. Shouldn't be too much trouble.

I've had mine out 3 times and so far so good (as far as cracking).
