What are your times looking like? Also what supporting mods are you typically having to perform along with your turbo or sc set-ups? Just curious if any are getting faster than the Turbo V-6 Stangs out there.

There's a turbo V6 Camaro that's into the 11s if i remember correctly, also there's a guy running 12.6 or so on 8psi.

As far as mods go, its difficult to get good tuning for these cars so typically you'll see them running the stock injectors and tune with an FMU. Other than that, the supporting mods are about the same as you'd expect on any other FI car... good intake, and a free flowing exhaust. Also, upgrading to a limited slip differential is a must at that point.

From what i can tell, these 3.8s respond to boost very well... i know 2 guys that have been running 10psi on their stock internals for over 20,000 miles.

what turbo camaro runs 11's?

I know Shirl runs 11's with a V6, but that is blower and bottle, not turbo

Shane runs 12's with his turbo setup

I know of 2 stangs, Justin00V6 and RyanM both 11.9 passes, both custom turbo kits. Ryan M's car is no longer together, and Justin sold his setup too. (but it has a new setup in progress ;))

I was just curious because I think that the Turbo/SC V-6 Stangs are winning this battle of who can go faster. I am only saying this because I was reading a article about a SC V-6 Stang from Dan Haga that ran like 11.70's and was fully streetable. Granted he pushing the hell out of the S-trim that he has by running 20 psi! Sorry guys I want GM's to be on top just as much as everyone else, but I think in this category we might be beat!

i've talked to dan many times online, he's got a nice setup. But thats built motor, pushing 20#, ect....

I like justins aproach to the fast V6 .... junkyard motor, 2 junkyard turbos, stall converter, fuel system, and tires, and of course custom tuning. Could be copied very cheap, if you have the skills to build it.

GM's rule in the power with v6's... TTA and GN, Sy/Ty ;) Just not the 4th gens.

The GM side is a little challenged due to no real tuning available yet

The ford guys, have great tuning available for a few years.

Once the GM camp gets the custom tuning, i expect to see more in the 11's. But the tuning that is even possible, looks to be 98+ so that leaves some of the more wild cars out, as they are older than 97s (ie, shane)

Like slow said, once we get good tuning for these cars, it probably won't be long before you see some very fast V6s popping up :D

Packy, hopefully the V6 Fbodies will be back on top soon. I lot of advancements have been popping up recently for the V6's. I had my built motor put in a few months ago, and my T66 will be going in next week. I will be running about 16 psi at the track, hopefully I will destroy the previous V6 record held by Shirl.

I am currently saving for a TH400 setup also...

Mods are:
Built LC/H/C/ turbo motor
Tubular Manifolds
Open Downpipe
FMU
External Wastegate...
and the T66
I will also be running N20/C20 on the intercooler which nets gains of around 50-60 hp.

I will be expecting numbers of 450 rwhp to the ground...hopefully 500 to 550 tq. :drive:
