I was wondering if anyone who had access to a GM Supplier Discount was able to use this to get a GTO?
I've seen how some dealers have marked up to 4000 over MSRP.
I guess one way to find out is to go to a dealer or call one, just wondering if anyone has had any experience with this.
Thanks!

I went to look at a GTO at John Hall Pontiac in daytona beach and they had a red automatic priced at over 38K :eyepop:

thats very upsetting. It seems the trend of marking up the GTO is catching on. Every GTO I have seen around here in NJ has some type of mark up from a $300 for an "appearance package" that I failed to notice. I dont like what dealers are doing to this car. Its tons of mark up which leads to zero sales, and then GM thinking that sales are down because of price adds incentives and degrades the car. If I was Pontiac, Id be going to dealers and asking what is the deal with the mark up. I wish GM had control over there dealers.

Over 38,000? That is insane.
I'd hope that the powers that be at GM know what some sorrysack dealers are doing and maybe take that into account for the reason for dismal sales figures.
There is a Chevy dealer near me that has a slingshot yellow SSR for sale for MSRP. They are asking MSRP with NO markup.
Now, on a very limited run SSR with no markup, how in the hell some dealers can get away with charging up to 4 grand more for a more mass produced GTO, and be able to sleep at night is beyond me.

Can't GM get in a world of crap if they are seen to be controlling the prices offered by dealers? I don't like what the dealers are doing, but I'm not sure that GM can do much about it ...

yeah, they cant control the dealers. I actualy read in an article with Cowager that he said he was so upset with dealers that he was going to by some 400 dealerships and have GM run them. It was just a threat but would probably prove to be a bad move.

The first one I looked at the Dealer was taking offers
I saw another one in green cove springs for 5K over last month, this month it dropped to $1400. we’ll see were it's at next month. The same dealer had some special addition Mont Carlo SC that was 37K

Ironically I have yet to get a call back from any of the dealers who I left phone numbers with saying I was interested... The dealers are not getting any cars... supply and demand... If people will pay they will sell...

Yea, just like mobil and shell do:rolleyes:
The fact is if nobody buys the car at MSRP + then, they cannot sell the car at MSRP +. The buyers who pay this are the problem, not Gm or the dealers.

There is a dealer here in Baton Rouge, that has had two red ones since Jan or before....If one of them was a six speed I would try to get one, but they still want stupid markup......

I just went and looked at a Black 6 speed today. MSRP was 33,190. Im going to have to wait about 3 months and then ill be able to get the Gm Supplier Discount. Currently it isnt possible to get one b/c the dealerships don't have enough in stock to get rid of one for such a low price. But from what i hear i should be able to snag it at about 29K MAYBE a little less. Its not 100% clear yet.
