And it still runs strong as ever! I can't wait to get it out to the track in the next week or two, with cool weather and a good cooldown I know it's got a 13.5 in it. (my 13.68 was done with the engine fully warmed up, I was hot lapping, which always slows me down by a couple of tenths, plus my 60ft was only 2.00, and I have done as good as 1.94 on my current tires)

Considering how low the engine wear has been in my last few oil analysis reports, I believe this engine can easily go another 100k without a problem. My lead content in my last report was only 2.5 ppm in 6200 miles, so that shows that the bearings are barely showing any signs of wear at all. I will be trading this car in on a C5 in about three years though, it's too bad I can't somehow keep it and see how far she'll really go under my care. Maybe I'll get lucky and find someone in my car club who wants to buy it and I can see if my maintenance practices paid off or not.

Thats pretty cool. I hope my LT1 will last that long. I've only got 100 000 km on it now.

I drive a lot, my car had 91,000km on it when I bought it in October 2001. It's my daily driver. I can't imagine driving a POS 4 cylinder car in the winter, and I think this car works awesome in the snow with the Pirelli Winter 210s I put on last fall. (although I can't wait to put my summer rubber on in the next couple of weeks!)

I agree with ya but I wanted to keep the Z show worthy. I still wanna pick up a V6 Firebird for winter duty though. I'm with you about these cars gettin into your blood.
Ever gotten stuck in snow?

The only time I ever got stuck in the snow was when I went to Talisman mountain a couple of years ago and we got about a foot of snow dumped on us, and I had parked on an incline in their lot. We were there for a work "team building weekend" and at the end of the weekend when I went to leave I could not get out of my spot because it was on an incline and because the ground had turned to sheer ice. I had to get a couple of guys to push me backwards out of the spot but after that I made it home no problem. That is the only time I've ever had a problem, and I was running all season tires at the time. Now I run snows and not once have I had any trouble.

I'm still on my original opti, original power window motors, original front rotors (although they are slightly warped now and will be replaced shortly, I already bought Raybestos rotors), and I don't believe the intake has ever been off, although it is leaking one quart every 5000 miles or so. My original water pump died at 80k. Alternator is still original, catalytic is still original. Most of it is still original! :)
