My car isn't white but we just removed the paint, sanded it a little bit and polished it. It turned out great!

Its not so much that people dont like the bird, its that the bird turns a faded pink and looks really bad. Many people sand theirs off, and get a decal of the bird, which looks nice, but I think it looks so good plain black, so you really have two choices.

That was my problem, it was very faded. It didn't look good at all.

could someone list instructions on sanding it down and what tools to use (such as certain sandpaper grit, etc)? i've been thinking about doing this for quite some time now but i dont want to mess it up.

This is what I found as I'm about to remove my bird from the center piece:http://web.camaross.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=110000&highlight=tail+light+center+panel
All I want to know is how to get that nicely polished shine on the tails and center panel. I know there has been details on how to get it shined but I can't find 'em:think:
