Has anyone tried to get a K&N filter to fit? Or does anyone make a better one? Or is the foam one good enough? The fit was not that great at all...a buddy and I spend about 3hours on the install and it seems like a different filter would fit better???

Thanks,
Jason

No I used the one that came with it. I checked it around 5k miles and it was pretty dirty. Took a vacuum cleaner to it and popped right back in.

Yes, supposedly you can only get it through Vararam themselves...the foam one does still flow better (but I doubt it filters better) though I've heard.

Per Vararam, there are 3 filter options, and they claim there is nothing that flows better.

The Super Street: this is a multi-layer extended service interval filter, capable of catching dirt particles as small as two microns. It's typical service interval is 50,000 miles (10,000 miles in a ram air application). This filter, although much more restrictive than our race filters, is more than capable of producing some serious numbers as tested by VETTE Magazine. This same filter media is found in Baja racers and dirt circle track race cars. Intended for extreme environments.

The Torquemaster: this filter is excellent for autocrossing and around town driving, 0-60 Mph etc...it emphasizes low-end and midrange torque and makes good top-end Hp, recommended for automatic transmission equipped cars. It makes 6-9+ more ft. lbs. and 1-2 Hp over a gauze-type filter.

The HP+: excellent for stroker motors, longer road course use and drag racing. Emphasizes top-end power and ram effect. It makes up to 2 Ft. Lbs. and 5-9 Hp more than a gauze-type filter.

"Our filters have the lowest pressure drop in the industry."

The K&N filter you are looking for is for a 1975 Triumph TR7, it will work in the Vararam.
