View Full Version : Why is everyone so excited about the new Mustang being so much like the old one?

Why is EVERYONE so impressed over a 40 year old design?!?!?! Engineers and designers have had DECADES to improve on the past. Having to go back to OLD designs, OLD ideas, and not improving on TECHNOLOGY just flat out SUCKS!!! :thumbdn:

Look at at all the successful NEW ideas out there........you can buy a NEW SEDAN WITH FOUR DOORS like a 3.5L Altima, V6 Accord, or even the new Ford 500 and have fresh ideas and peformance BETTER THAN THE OLD CARS BEING IMITATED BY THE NEW MUSTANG!!!

WEAK!!

Handling maybe, but straight line performance? hahahaha.

That's the definition of a muscle car....you want the whole package, but a Vette, Viper, GT ,etc.

yeah dude, it's not like they are using 1960's technology to make the car. It's got design cues to one of the baddest looking mustangs out there some 30 years later.

Now if it used bias tires, and the original 289 and drum brakes.. then you can bitch...

Someone's all pissy at ford.. you should be pissed at GM for not having anything to compete.

The Ford 500 is a fresh idea? It looks like a last gen Passat plus its slow w/ only 200 hp.

The Stang may have throwback looks but there's nothing wrong w/ that. I'd rather have a new GT than an Altima or the Passat wannabee 500.

I have told you time and again I DO NOT RACE MY CAR AT THE TRACK!! It is unsafe, and it would be unfair because I've never been there. You are only offering me that because you KNOW YOU WILL WIN!

How about you race me from a 30 roll on the street where it is more fair, and I don't have to interface with the tree? I have never lost a race on the street, EVER. At worst I have hung right with a HEAVILY modded C5 with an expert driver.

That's what I figured. You have a modded Z28 and are afraid of the track and a bet that you can't break 13 flat. :thumbdn: Everyone has a first time, which is why I was going to give you FIVE runs to do it in. I'm not even making him race ME......I know my car is faster than his......and I REALLY don't think asking a modded LS1 to get under 13 flat once in 5 tries is that big of a deal.....I don't remember all of his mods, but he has plenty if he'd do the !bad driver mod too. ;)

I am not a ricer, I just don't want to put my car into the wall, and it's easier and SAFER to race from a 30 roll, so that traction isn't an issue!!!

You left out some details Bobbles.......your "custom intake" isn't an intake manifold like you make it sound, right? Isn't it really some tubing that you devised from Home Depot or somewhere to replace the lid and airbox? Shorty headers.........how many times have I seen that in your beloved magazines as a "Top 10 Least Bang for the Buck" mod for LS1s? ;) One Recaro? :rotfl: I bet that looks pimp.

And racing from a 30 roll is safer if you don't know how to launch.

 You are wasting your breath with this guy. He's afraid of showing up at the track and being the first ever modded LS1 to not be able to pull a 3 second 60' time. :o Why do you think he only races from a roll in a car that shouldn't be traction challenged at a good track?

Bad driver mod. :yup:

Don't even give him the time of day. It is not worth it. He has a formula for everything. He fails to consider variables in his precious formula such as temperature, humidity, altitude and wind speed and direction. We all know those things just don't matter in the real world.

I'm not a huge fan of Mustangs, but I like those new ones and I don't see what the big deal is about them bringing back an older look.

I am not a ricer, I just don't want to put my car into the wall, and it's easier and SAFER to race from a 30 roll, so that traction isn't an issue!!!

Safer to illegally race on a highway, then a closed track?

But for the last post and probably the stun, the 05 GTO is still slower than the 03 Cobra.
