I think I was scammed (Updated with resolution)

Well it looks like Richard De Jonsano and his "friend" is trying to screw me. I sent him the money for a T-56 on the 2nd and he has cashed the money order and has not responded to my e mails or anything. Since the second I have contacted him numerous times and nothing. So looks like I might be out $550 dollars. Is there any course of action I can take, I have a friend that is an Illinois State trooper that can get me in contact with the police department in the town but I don't know if that will do any good. Can I contact the USPS and file a claim or something because I sent the money order through the mail?
I am pretty pissed, my dad is a truck driver and goes through Texas a lot, I might have to I will take some time off of school and visit Steven in Texas. Here is his info if anyone knows him. If by some change he e mails me and I get the tranny I will delete this thread.

Was it a postal money order? If it is I think you can get them for mail fraud...

No it was not a postal money order, I tried to get the money order through the post office and their machine was messed up or something. I have the Dickinson police department phone number I got from my friend that is an Illinois state trooper and if I have to I will try to give them a call and file a complaint, if all else fails I will try and hitch a ride with my dad next week if he is going through there and stop and talk to Steven myself.

I'm about 45 minutes from there. I'd go down there and talk to him for ya, but I'm not for the same reason I'm telling you to be careful when you do... all the jokes about everyone in Texas packing aren't just jokes. $550 can buy a LOT of gun, so just be careful on how you approach this. Get police involved if at all possible.

If you could get any info possible I would be VERY greatful. If you can talk to the guy that would be awesome. I don't want to put you in any danger but if you find out anything for me that would be great.

And yes if I do go down to Texas I will get the police involved just so I can see this guy get what is coming to him. I know about Texas, I live in a farming community in Illinois where if you don't have a 12ga. and a .45 you are considered a "Yankee". Thank you....

Oh PiP, thanks for the head up.....I gave him a call but he didn't answer, I will try again. I contacted the money order place again and bitched and they said that they might be able to do something......but it could take 8 months:mad: I really don't want to wait that long.

I just told him I wanted my money back, I will keep you guys updated.

This guy is a scammer. You need to get your money back obviously and forget the T56. You bought a T56 from this guy. You asked questions about THAT SPECIFIC T56 not another shops tranny. That is fucked up right there. Imagine buying a tranny and getting a different one that you requested info on? Damned thing could have been grenaded for all you would have known.

550+100 is still not justice, but take what you can get and run for the hills

Well after getting several e mails from him and he said he was going to pay me back, he did!! I got a cashiers check in the mail and took it to the back and deposited it. I am glad he came to his senses and got my money back and I got lucky in the end.
