Here is a little flow chart I put together to help select the right TC. This mainly to help determine the minimum stall to select for good performance. You can always use more stall and that is different for each person.
Basic Bolt-ons: Airlid, Ported TB and a Catback.
All Bolt-ons: Headers, LS6 Intake, Pullies.
Any questions or changes, let me know.

I know everyone has different tastes on how much stall they like, but we get a lot of posts on what TC should I choose. Hopefully, this will help some people out in this area while keeping in mind of their future mods.
Very nicely done! I'm going to stick this for future reference.
great job blacker :worship:, saves me the time i was going to spend putting a small tranny guide together.

so with the mods in my sig i would want a 2800-3200 (im gonna go for a 3000) stall with a 1.8-2.2 STR??? and what does STR stand for again? i know its some kind of ratio but im not 100% on what it is...

well I got it in and I love it. all I can say it it is well worth it, and donot forget the tranny cooler/
the str is basically a factor by which your torque is multiplyed by when launching.

I noticed on the right side of the chart it has lower STR with the 2.73 . Wouldn't you want the higher STR with those gears to "tighten" it up? Lower STR with the 3.23-3.73?

You are right on my friend as far as i am concerned.
My current mod's.....
All bolt 'on's, 323's,Ls6 intake,mild cam ( 220 / .553 @112+4), pullies,Yank SY3500.
Perfect Combo!
For me..... :D

Good chart.
Allthough I don't see "NITROUS" as an option there. :hmm:
I'm happy I took suggestions and went with the TC I ended up getting. Yank SY3500 w/a 1.8 STR.
Rest of mods are in sig.
:)
My car can be launched on a good day w/o much wheelspin (you have to ease into it and stop pressing down on the gas if you feel it losing traction).
:worship: Madman LCA's. You get a TON of warning/feedback with aftermarket LCA's that you wouldn't get with stock ones.
W/the 100 shot, it's gotta be REALLY warm to hook. I'm always willing to try, though. :wall:

I love my setup but I want to make an obsevation I have
for daily driving it has become a little bit of a pain. I love it when I am messing around but if i just need to get from point a to point b i do get a little fedup, also once i hit lock up at about 45-55mph it is annoying to lightly accelerate, it will rev and not realy go any where unless I go about half way down. also it vibrates abit aroung lock up speed. it almost feels like it is slipping right before it locks up.....like you get to a point inbetween unlocked and locked up. just my observation.:drive:

I wonder if that is normal?
