Have you tried "Control Panel" Add/remove programs in windows and delete from there .. as I can find no info on deleting V6 on their site.. you may wish to go into their forum and ask http://www.efilive.com/forum/index.php

The control panel will not remove everything. There are other register, folders, log data, and other files that you must go in and delete manually. I figured it out and got them all removed.

AMRCNBA is right, the uninstall only uninstalls files and registry settings that were installed during installation.

EFILive V6 will create new files (log files etc) and new entries in the registry as you change the EFILive configuration.

To completely remove *all* traces of EFILive V6 you need to perform the following tasks after you have uninstalled from the Windows Control Panel.

1. Edit the registry using regedit and delete the registry key:
\\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\EFILive\ScanToolV6

2. Save any data files that you want to keep and delete the EFILive installation directory. By default the installation directory is:
c:\Program Files\EFILive\ScanToolV6

EFILive V6 also registers the file type *.efi as an EFILive log file, so that you can double click on any *.efi file and it will automatically start EFILive V6 and load/display that log file. You may need to manually "unregister" that file type association.

Just FYI, here is the instructions for uninstalling EFILive V5. I will make another FAQ entry for uninstalling EFILive V6.

Now I wonder, why do you want to uninstall such a useful program? :)

I'm selling that lap top and I'm clearing out everything on it, not because I'm going to quit using the software, quite the contrary. I use it 20 to 30 times a week.

On a side note, Yesterday, I had some problems using the Autotap software that was sent to me about 5 months ago. I finally got a car to use it on, and my password wouldn't work. The password for my EFILive V6 software was working but not the one for Autotap. After a few minutes on the phone with Joe Ebner from B&B Electronics, everything worked perfectly. I purchased my software from Jim Pace, not B&B, and even though they knew that, they were still more than willing to go the extra mile and help me out. They've got a top notch customer service team, and the general attitude I got from Joe and the other employees was awsome. I appreciate the time and effort they put into it. Thanks guys.

:yikes: .. a decent REG cleaner should do the trick after a regular un-install if you are careful because hand typin in the REG sometimes can lead to what happended to Slow6inslo above :)
