I know decals are a popular thing and I have nothing against decals other than their cost. For $4 I was able to buy a paint enamel pen at an arts and crafts store and paint my own logos.

Right when I first did this almost 2 years ago, there was some question as to the durability of the paint and I'll admit, the front bird does take some abuse from road grime and rocks, however, after a seasons worth of driving, its not too bad, and it takes all of 5 minutes to go over it again with new paint to freshen it up.

Another benefit to the paint over decals is when washing the car, you can safely go over the paint with soap and a sponge. As long as you dont rub really hard on it, it wont come off. Those of you with small decals know the trouble they start to cause when you rub a sponge or cloth over them and they start peeling.

With that in mind, heres my pix. The ones of the TRANS AM logos have since been removed in favor of a !Molding look.

In this picture, you can also see my !Pink Bird Logo. I did not use the 94 Formula piece like some people use. That is my stock center piece that I sanded, and buffed for an all black look.

That's sweet! And it's in my budget! Did you mask your paint at all or were you just careful with the pen? Did you do any kind of prep of finish work to it? I'm doing this! As soon as I get the details...

You definitely want to clean it before you start painting, and make sure there is no wax on the painted areas, so use a bit of Dawn or some other type of product that removes wax. Other than that, no other prep work is required. You dont need to mask anything as long as you have a steady hand. If you mess up, as long as the paint is still wet, you can rub it off with your finger, so just go slow.

How would the touch up paint in a bottle that some auto parts stores work, in a contrasting color of course?

Great idea. It is a better idea than decals, especially for those smaller ones like the front Pontiac lettering on the headlight.
