I have a Spec Stage IV that is 2 years old, and has about 15,000 miles on it. It still seems to have plenty of life, but when I'm taking off from a stop it makes a LOT of screaching, squealing noise. It used to only happen when the car was cold, now it's loud all the time.

I was told by several people to do a couple of 5-6K drops to 'clean it off', so I've done that 3 times now. It gets better each time, but the noise always comes back after a drive or two.

:help:

hmm the screeching is the metallics in the disk and alot of these do this

if the car is doing it all of the time and comes back after the dumps you might want to give dave at SPEC a call and ask him what he thinks

its fine. beat on it more. or go down in stage as you have no need for it.

you have a unsprung disc on a single mass flywheel.. it's goona chatter and be ubnoxious due to the power pulses from the motor... there is a reason the stock clutches hub is sprung.
