I was wondering what would be the best "Bang for the buck" suspension mods for a stock 2001 trans-am...

Would it be better to start with a suspension upgrade kit (like the slp level 1 suspension kit) that already has springs/shocks/lower control arms/panhard rod/antiroll bar, or would it be better to mix and match some other parts instead? Would I also need to buy lower control arm relocation brackets with a kit like that?

Should I focus on another part of the car to start modding?
I'd like to know where to start really, so any advice would be appreciated.

bang for the buck, is getting great damping shocks, even if keeping stock springs... you can get the same lowering than SLP level with stock springs, if you use Koni SA in the front (since it has 2 perch locations).. you can always put Bilstein in the rear... and the car will rock.

So you're talking about something like the Koni Sports/Bilstein HDs from stranoparts.com?

edit: Also, would 18x10.5 z06 wheels with a +56 offset fit all 4 corners? I know +53 would (seems no one stocks it), but I was told that +58 would require rolling the fender or a smaller tire.

id say get sub frame connectors first, then shocks/sturts, and then a new front sway bar.

Yes...
As for the wheels, they tuck too much on the inside... you'll need spacers.
If you're able to get a hold on +53mm, I'd go for it.
