Well, first thing that comes to my mind concidering I know the power of the LS1(I have a 2000 Z28 currently), first thing is WIDER TIRES, they could get some wider rims, the interior looks great but i think that the inner dash with the radio controls and what not could be a little better, otherwise, its awsome, the exterior could use a few more lines, but I do think its a nice lookin car, it'd be nice to own one if i had the money, i was just gunna let ya know my opinions, also i'm new to site so this was kinda a intro of me, i love ls1's and fbodys, corvettes, and the new gto is pretty awsome for first impressions :)

I like it but would I trade either of my T/As for it the answer is no.Besides the GTO is after a different market not the one that the Firebird/Camaro is/was in.

I finally drove one on Sunday I was not impressed it had a nice note to it sound wise the interior was not for me (I prefer the interior of the CTS v.s. the GTO. I test drove an A4 and it fell short in performance IMHO I mashed the pedal to the floor and she waited to go. What I found odd was then when you put it into drive the rear end dropped just a bit kind of neat other than that I would not spend my $$$ on a GTO. For what dealerships are asking $37-40k I would much rather have a CTS-V and eat the GTO alive :)

If you can't find a dealer that's not overcharging, you're not looking hard enough.

Dealers are even starting to discount off MSRP already.

I also saw one dealer,(forgot name) and they were giving GM discount, this is good, because I can get the GM discount.

if your gunna pay 40k for a GTO, you need to be beat over the head, but that goes with any car that much over MSRP.
For 33k, which is closer to the real price, its a fantastic car. And the thing you felt when you mashed down was the PCM killing the motor so it didnt chew through thoes gears. Im sure if you drove a 6spd, you would get a different feeling.

Drive a 6spd and if you think that Caddy dealers are going to charge just sticker for the V series, then you have rocks in your head. LOL.
