i heard from some people that if you get the short stick to the 5.0 or any shifter that it could mess up the tranny....the sychronizers can pop out?? has this happened to anyone yet? i love the feel of the shifter with the short stick...but im not down with messing up my tranny....anyone give me some feedback about this?
There's no physical way for a stick-only-change to screw up the T56. With a shorter stick, you have less leverage to damage anything at all.
If anything, an under-shift could damage synchro parts, but with a shorter stick, that's less likely to happen due to shorter travel before a gear is engaged.

I've had just about every shifter combination in my car and have bought 3 Short Sticks from Lou and can honestly say, the Power Tower and LSS is the BEST shifter combination PERIOD!!
However, one thing I've learned is that you can't just install it and go powershifting right away:\
The shifts are so short that you actually have to learn to shift SLOWER or you'll end up grinding gears:sillyme:
This is not a problem with the shifter, it's driver error......
A word of advice.....
If you go from a stock school bus shifter to a Power Tower/LSS, I suggest driving it normally for a good few days in traffic before attempting to shift quickly....
