trucks with ls1 engines?

ok i know that gm didnt really put actual ls1 engines in their trucks, just derivitives, but i was wondering which engines these are? is it just the 5.3l? will ls1 cams work in these trucks? if i wanted to buy one, what engine would i need to look for? thanks guys

The 4.8, 5.3 and 6.0 are all LS1 based. You can put an "LS1" cam in any of these motors, but you'd be better off finding a cam specifically for whatever it's going in.

Yep, 4.8, 5.3, 5.7 and 6.0 are all in the same family of motors and most all of thier componets are interchangable.
