Blackfire/P21S...then again, I tend to blaze my own trails. Nice avatar BTW...any idea where I can find one of those girls around here?

everyone has their own reasons for picking their wax or polish. your best bet is to build a list of features you want and rank them in order of importance to you. then find the product that matches your list.
if you want to go purely by testing.... zaino is the best - but note tropicare is brand new and has not been tested yet by places such as gurureports.com or any other places.
ps - zaino is antistatic. even from my own "non-scientific" tests there is less static on my car with zaino compared to other products i've used. static is always being built up on the car.... even things such as bad towel maintenance to lead to static buildup on the car.

have you ever experienced anything remotely close to that Benz with Zaino? I was actually about to order a bunch of Zaino and then I saw that and started to doubt it. But i have never used Zaino but have been wanting too cause of all the great results ive seen but that kinda worried me.

no - i have never seen anything close to that pic he has. now things to remember - static is going to build up on the car no matter what you do, all you can do is minimize it. rubbing a towel on the paint (whether drying, detailing, dusting, etc) will cause static. z6 helps remove static.
if air is touching your car - you will get dust on it. my formula is black - you leave it uncovered for 5 minutes and there is dust on it. the thing about zaino is the dust does not stick. it will wipe right off (with a towel or duster). i have never seen zaino attract dust like that pic shows :dunno:

Everybody has their own opinion on polish products for their car. I use ZAINO and I do like it, it makes my Z28 look really good. I have not used anyother polish company products on my car. So I would say do some research, try out some products and then decide which one you like.

I just used Tropicare and so far I love it, it has been about a month now since I applied it and she goes out everyday and she still feels as smooth as the day I put it on.

I use Zaino, but I'm sure they're both about the same. The application process is pretty much the same.

Everyone just needs to stop bitching about "mixing". Godamn, it's not that hard people.... you don't need a chemistry set to do it.
All you need is an IQ greather than 2 and the ability to follow directions: "5 drops of ZFX for 1 ounce of polish".
Real fuggin hard to follow, huh?
Zaino and Tropi-care are "whichever one you like better" products, it's that simple. Results are gonna be about the same.
And if you wanna bitch about this, then your IQ is probably less than 2, so don't drive a car anymore.

It certainly doesn't hurt to give Zaino a shot...to me, it was too bright and had a lifeless shine on a Black car, but that was my own personal opinion.
I just hate seeing the nutswingers on either side of the fence that won't try anything different. With the quality of the products available today, you really have nothing to lose by trying something different. No, that doesn't mean go out to Wal-Mart and buy the $5 tub of Turtle Wax and expect to get decent results, but I see no reason to not try Zaino, Tropi-Care, Blackfire, P21S, Pinnacle Souveran, Menzerna FMJ, and the list goes on...all great products. I'm still in the process of trying them all...it will take me some time (having all at once would cost some serious $$$), but I'll get there eventually. Zaino and Tropi-Care are by no means the end-all, be-all of car care products. Just my $.02.

I think it's too early to tell - Zaino has proven itself over the years as a great product - you can't go wrong with it. Its durability is its strong point IMO. It leaves a little too "plasticy" shine for some peoples tastes - not as deep and wet look like you can get with a carnauba.
Tropi-Care comes from a long time distributor of Zaino so one would hope that he has come up with something at least as good as Zaino as I'm sure he knows how "Zaino-holics" are. (hey, I used to be one)
It seems to have gotten some good press in Texas where it was initially marketed. It is now gaining notoriety and soon there will be plenty of info about TC on the net. I know the owner was giving out sample packs at Autopia.org - I'm anxiously awaiting feedback from those test results.
All that can really be said about it now is its ease of use and shine. Both of which seem to be very good in mine and others opinions. The bigger question now is durability - and unfortunately we have to wait and see how the product holds up.
So if you want a proven product - go with Zaino. If you want to try something new go Tropi-Care. I don't think you can go wrong either way.

I have a sample of Tropi-Care at home I'm gonna try as soon as weather permits
I'll post those results sometime soon :D

Hell, I'd even consider durability a non-issue for a vast majority of the true detailers. I redo the finish on my car so often it isn't even funny, but then again, I have the time to throw at it. I'd be damned if I'd let my car go for 6 months or even longer untouched.

Some of us don't have that option ;)
Whether it be money to do it every week or time, you have to consider us "others" :p

Well, being single and young helps...I'm sure this will pass with time, but for now, it keeps me out of trouble. Granted, it is probably keeping me single too :( Oh well, my car will never leave me (at least I hope not).

Slight thread highjack here - sorry...
Sandman -
There is a great product - called Quick and Easy Wash (QEW) that you should check out. You can safely wash your vehicle with 1 or 2 buckets of water.
Check out this (http://www.autopia.org/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=32078) thread at Autopia.org or just do a search for QEW over there. It's good stuff!
Back to you regularly scheduled thread.

I'm open to any product - it's just that Zaino has proved to be the absolute best, so far anyway.

:werd: i'm doing some testing of my own with tropicare. it's just too new to have any solid results yet.

(as usual - please ignore the wheel wells, this was not after a detail job... just a normal day i saw this while getting out the lawn mower and took a pic)

And to most people, that is all fine and well...Zaino is leaps and bounds beyond the crap you can find at Wally World. It certainly isn't the only product that will produce those results though, which has been my stance all along.

Smiley - looks real sharp :D I prefer a "wetter shine, but boy, that really does look great, eh? I can see quite a vivid reflection. I have some cool "wet" pics I'd like to share but I haven't got a place to host them :(
Sandman - definetely give the QEW a try. Most of the super hard-core detailers over at autopia actually PREFER it over a regular carwash method. I believe Scottwax (a true professional) uses it exclusively. Definetely might change the way you go about detailing, and hopefully will give you a chance to apply Zaino more often (or even experiment with some other products more freely)
Jantzen - thanks for turning them onto QEW - it completely slipped my mind.
Some real good discussions going on at this forum lately - I enjoy being a part of them.
