good friend of mine who owns some of the nicest cars ive ever seen just had the trans rebuilt on his 1989 T/A 5.0 automatic and when he got it back from the shop the powersteering pump/res is completly dry, are there any P/S lines that must be disconnected to remove/install the trans? can someone shine some light on this?:(

Sounds like an incompetant mechanic, have you tried adding fluid?

I would contact the mechanic/shop who did the work. Ask if the PS lines were unhooked by mistake. Ask if some other accident might have happened. Be sure to let them know what has occured and that you feel they are responsible for any damage from running on a dry pump.
