HMM might be racing a new gto soon

:yikes: My best friend just left me a message. Said the guy who lives across the street from him just got a new gto and wants a piece of my 30th :wtf:


Looks like a good ol fashion street race is in order :worship:

For you pansy ass libs who want to bitch about street racing, go away, besides my boy is in tight with the local boys in blue :D

Problem is my boy is heading out for a week and a 1/2 and lives 50 miles south of me. :mad: Might take a few weeks to get it set up..plus let the gto get broken in. Supposedly still has the window sticker on it. :dunno:


Might have to do it from a run though, I am down to about 25% tread on the rear tires:mad: :mad: and those mohterfuckers wouldn't grab stock:mad:

Why not take it to a track?

Oh, and assuming you can launch your way out of a wet paper bag and don't screw up the shifts, you'll probably edge him out by a few tenths. If he doesn't know how to launch that car (it's not easy to launch), you'll beat him by a wider margin.

My car is not stock as I have a lid and full ram air mod, so I probably am pushing 350hp. I wouldn't really care how the race came out so much as it would be fun to run another performance car. I never get the chance, most won't mess with me or they are 65 and driving a vette:mad:

From what I understand Desoto (track 5 miles up the street) is NHRA sanctioned so they have the NHRA street racing rule in effect.

IE - they consider a T-top car an open roof and it has to have a roll bar. :mad: I have not verified that, but have been told by several people :dunno:


Actually I would prefer to go to the track with my car as I have never run it against the clock.

My car is a bitch to launch. There is not enough clutch to feather it out so you are left with spin or bog:mad:

I don't really know. I can't launch my way out of a wet paper bag so I couldn't give you a usefull answer. It's better than the one in my diesel pickup for daily driving. That much I know for sure. :thumbup:

It shouldn't be much different than the F-Body clutch. Same basic engine, same basic tranny.

The pre-LS6 F-body clutch is weak as that wet paper bag you refer to. Once it goes I am going to upgrade it to the Z06. Of course you don't have to worry about a glass rear either. I assume the aussies were smart enough not to put a 4cyl S-10 rear behind 350hp

Nothing like the clutch I had in my 77 T/A when I converted it over to an M-4:D or the 1965 Pontiac 2+2 I drove a few times with a :worship: 421 HO Tripower.

I run at an NHRA track, and no, you dont need a cage unless you run faster then 12 sec. I have ttops and have never had a problem.

Etown is pretty anal about saftey and sound. Ive seen verts run at etown with no cage.
