I have driven my friends SS with the Hurst option and in my opinion, my Pro 5.0 seems to have a lot of play in it compared to the tight feel of the Hurst. Hell, I might have something loose in there that I need to check out. The Pro 5.0 seems to be more responsive to quicker shifts though. I would like to get a LSS in the near future because the Pro 5.0 is too tall in my opinion. - Patrick :D

I love the Hurst. I added the Lous short stick and the throws are short and crisp.

I had good luck with the factory Hurst. But I HATE driving cars with the Normal Shifter.
Vette has the Hurst Pro. Most excellent.

Pro 5.0
B&M Ripper
Lou's Short Stick

Lou's Short Stick or LLS as many call it is not a shifter, but a shortend shaft, I added this to my Factory Hurst and love it.

I never missed a shift before the stick, but I do love the shorter shift movement it has now.

Add a LLS to your Hurst and you will forget about wanting a 5.0 or ripper IMO.

Hurst factory shifter in my 02 Z has been hassle free. why mess with it if its not broke. But not into slamming gears myself :)

I went from a factory Hurst shifter to a Pro 5.0 and the difference was night and day! The Hurst was very sloppy compared to the Pro 5.0.

That is the cool thing about the LLS, it makes it more precise.

I had that same feeling when I got my Pro 5.0, but my car didn't come with the Hurst option, so for me, it was a big difference. Only thing is, lately the shifter has been feeling sloppy again. I'm thinking I might have forgot to tighten some bolts when I had to tear the console back down again after a revers lockout solenoid problem. I say stick with the hurst and get a LSS to make the shifts even shorter unless you are willing to shell out over 200 bucks for a pro 5.0/LSS combo.

the pro 5.0 is very firm and shifts are a whole lot cleaner plus you know when you in a gear! i added the lou's short stick to mine and i love it, it sits just right and makes shifting nearly effortless:D

i love my pro 5.0 w/lss combo :drive:. since you have the hurst already i'd go with a short shifter first and see how you like that.

I have had the stock hurst shifter with a short stick from the day i bought my car. I love it and am very used to it, never missed a shift. I love the feel of it over most other shifters on the market. I would stick with it if i was you. :)

Driven Stock, hurst and Pro 5.0.

Pro 5.0 is the best hands down. :)

The thing about thePro 5.0 is that it has external stops which can help prevent bent shift forks.

yes... it appears the texas people know their stuff ;)

i had the plain hurst

i noticed a HUGE difference by going to the B&M Ripper...

i was VERY happy switching from the ripper to the pro 5.0 w/ the LSS

The t-56 has internal stops, so the Pro 5.0 stops can be removed if you want.

I had the stock hurst, I was happy with that. Then I installed the Pro 5.0, the 5.0 is so much better than the Hurst, I dont have the LSS yet, but I cut down the stock 5.0 handle to shorten it up alittle bit. I would recomend it to anyone.

having a pro 5.0 without the lous short stick is like drinking non-alcoholic beer! Without one the other isnt living up to its potential, you are just depriving yourself:D

Will that fit a stock Hurst f-body shifter?

Hurst with a short stick is the best combo by far. And that's a guarantee

That is where I got Mine. :D
The is also a Jarrod short stick, that is cheaper.

But I have to say that the 40.00 I spent on the short stick, was money "well" spent. And I Liked the Husrt before the LSS, but I loved it after.

Yeah...next time I get some extra dough, I'm getting the LSS with a leather wrapped Hurst knob for my Pro 5.0...the non-hurst stock knob is way too small. I'd like to get a aluminum knob with the firebird engraving, but here in Texas that would get way to hot.

Nother vote for the Hurst with LSS.

I haven't looked, but is the LSS bent differently than the stock Hurst shifter? Or is the LSS just shorter??

I've had the M6 Hurst for about a year now. I beat on my car quite a bit and its holding fairly well. I've only missed two shifts and that was when i first got the car. Since then I've had no problems with the Hurst.
