This is a functional mod. I wanted an underhood light that I could turn on and off if I ever had my hood up late at night, so I cut away part of the hood and installed a white neon 10" tube and wired a switch and fuse to the fuse panel. My car doesnt have TCS, so I used the TCS fuse junction.

Test fitting of light with black door molding to cover up the cuts. I later went back and straightened up the cuts and made it look prettier:
