When I was building up the drivetrain/chassis of my ta a couple of years ago I was planning way ahead into the future so I built everything to handle one hell of an engine to be built at a later date. When it came to the axle I purchased a new powdercoated 9" from currie with 4:11 gears. It was built to withstand according to them 1100 hp. I've had no problems at all with it, I love it to death. It's so nice to never have to worry about my axle, especially since I'm not even breaking 400hp.:) But I guess my question, I always see people talking about their strange or moser setups, but I never read anything in here about currie. Why is that? Is there something I don't know about currie? Have you guys had unusually bad experiences with them? Just curious, Thanks for any light shed on this for me.

Chances are, people just haven't heard as much about them, and therefore go with who they have heard of - Strange or Moser. There is absolutely nothing wrong with Currie...hell, I'm still thinking about going with a 9" from Billingsley. They make a very beefy looking housing.

Sounds like you have a very nice setup...do you have any pics you could send me? I like to know *all* the options available before I go making a huge purchase like this.

Actually my car is up on stilts right now ready for a new torque arm. When I go out in the garage tonight, I'll snap some for you.

I don't have a Currie 9+ yet, but I have been trying to clue people in on this rear for several years now. The only downside to this rear is there is not ABS available yet. I do not know if they plan to offer 3 channel and 4 channel ABS in the future.
This will be the rear I get when I have the money:
9+ with the race case
3.89 gears
35 spline axles
Detroit Locker
Backing plates for stock brakes
No brake option---I will just reuse my stock set-up
