In case you're wondering, I do plan on filling in the Corvette logos, sanding them down, painting them, and then putting Trans Am logos on the FRCs, but thats a project for this spring.

Thats because when I ordered my car, it came with the rare WS3 package. Anytime I work on my car, these floating holograms are projected over every part with an arrow telling me what they are. Its pretty useful when working on the car! :D
i saw some slp smooth belows going on ebay for 9.95. that would look sweet on your setup.

I've had my FRC's sitting in the garage for months now...maybe i'll get around to putting them on this spring also when it's not so damn cold. It looks clean man. Good job.

I bet all that sanding was a pain. I hate sanding, that's why my intake will probably stay like it is. ;)

Looks great in the pics.
Is there any way I could get a high res pic of the intake? I want to paint mine but am on a budget. The spray can looks like it did a great job but I'm worried about how it will look when it's been driven for a few hundred miles, washed, and how well the paint is going to hold up.
Did you use spray can clear too? Everytime I've tried to use spray can clear on plastic it makes the paint drip and run and looks like crap. If you used can clear did you get rustoleum again?
Thanks if you can get a high res pic I'll host it for you if you need.

if you can't no big deal, I think it looks great.

Yeah, I do too, and youre right, it was a pain in the ass, but now looking back, I am so glad I did it. I've seen other people who paitned their intakes without sanding them, and seeing those black casting circles on the top of each runner, just looks tacky in my opinion.

Which picture in particular do you want? I still have the original images from my camera, I can send you any of them, but tell me which one you want.
Yes, the primer, paint, and clear were all from a spray can. Although its not as good as pro paint, as long as you use self control, make quick and steady motions, and keep the can at a proper distance, it wont run, and it will look good.
Those pictures were taken in May of last year. Since then, I put on about 3000 miles on the car and washed the engine at least a couple times. Still looks as good as the day I painted it.
Harsh chemicals or gasoline will hurt the paint, but soapy water will not.

i am going to sand mine down a little and then have it coated, the coating is a teflon coating that will not scratch and last forever almost like powder coating but with plastic

I think its a great looking mod, but I will wait until I can find a used Ls1/Ls6 intake to do it, I will not take my stock one off, painted it, then put it back on

I have a C5 LS1 intake for anybody that would want one...50$ plus shipping. I'll also have a stock EGR'd LS1 intake once i get around to painting and installing my LS6 intake that's been waiting in the garage.
