This mod gets mixed emotions, but I like it painted:

Ordered mine from ebay for $35:

Test Fitting:

After being painted by a local body shop. It looks like the paint doesnt match, but its just the lighting, it does:

It doesn't look too bad, but I don't like those bolts showing.

I could have had those painted as well, but I liked the contrast, so I left them bare on purpose.

I still am on the fence about this one. What if any (besides cosmetic) function does it serve?

By removal of the finger lip that protrudes out of the stock fuel door, the drag coefficient is drastically reduced, thus shaving around .2 seconds off your quarter mile times.

did the door fit perfectly, or did you have to modify?

No, there is cutting and drilled required to mount it, however its pretty minor and doesnt show at all once its installed. There used to be a site out there that had pictures of the installation and where to cut, if anyone knows where that site is, please post the URL, if not, I can type something up.

Man, $35! You got a great deal there! Every one I've seen was going for 90 bucks. Any more where that one came from? ;)

The guy that was selling it didnt have a picture, and simply had it listed as Eclipse Fuel Door. No one had bid on it, so I emailed the guy and asked if it was the aluminum ones from the 00-04 models and he said yeah, so I took a chance and bid on it! His loss! :D

Were you able to use the black plastic piece that came mounted on the back of the Eclipse fuel door, or did you have to remove that?

It will not fit the curves of the F-body inner fender, however I do know at least one person who hacked it up and made it fit. I might one day try that, but it really doesnt bother me that its not there. If anything, it kinda helps cause I have a tendency to fill my gas tank to the brim, and some pumps dont shut off quick enough and end up spewing gas out of the neck, and now, without the black inner cup, the gas stays on the inside of the fender, instead of getting on the paint.

I think this door will look good on Pewter. I might have to try to find one and see!!

Looks good constrictor

In the last picture, it looks like it doesn't quite fit right in the back. It looks like it doesn't sit flush to the quarter panel. Is it just the light?

Nope, youre not seeing things. You have to remember, this door was meant for an Eclipse and not an F-body. The size is exactly the same, but the contours of the door are a little bit off. It can be made to fit very closely, but its not perfectly. If you are a perfectionist and want it to look stock, you won't be happy because the bottom edge wont line up 100%. Its not too noticable in these pictures, and most people will not notice it either. Of course you will cause its your car, but I think the slight imperfection isnt that noticable in person, and the new door looks so nice, I can deal with it. Plus, this is an F-body we're talking about here, so mis matched body panels are part of the game! :D

My driver's door is aligned so bad it looks like it came off a Monte Carlo.

All joking aside, my car launched pretty hard before this mod but now... This has almost got me where I can get that left front wheel off the ground.

It doesn't line up perfect but it's pretty close to it on my Z.

I can tell by those pictures that it lines up on the Camaro better than it does on my car.
