My Present Performance Mods;
- BPP Vortex Rammer Intake w/Power Duct & Performance Coupler
- 172' Tstat w/Fans Programmed 186on 173off
- Shaner S2 TB & TB Bypass
- GM 3.42 Rear Diff Assembly(replaced 2.73)
- Borla Stinger w/Quad Tips
- LS1 Edit by Godspeed @ LGMotorsports
- ASP Underdrive Pulley Kit
- Heatmaster Tunnel Heat Shield
- Pro LG LT Header Off Road System
- Kumho MX C5 tires.
Next visit to LGMotorpsorts April 14-17 for...
- G5X-3 Cam Pkg. w/Comp 921 Dual Springs
- Vigilante 2800 TConverter
- B&M Trans Cooler
- LS1 Edit tuning (always after major mods done at LGM)
My goal is 400RWHP/RWTQ & low 12's or high 11's in 1/4 ET(see SIG). Of course, I'll need to improve my 60 FT 2.05 but that was with stock converter. Notice, I decided on mild/moderate TC upgrade because even though my C5 is a weekend warrior I want to keep her street friendly, if you know what I mean.

I guarantee you will love the Pro LG LT Header System, I know I love mine :D & you will pick up some great low-mid power gains.

If you put some sticky tires on your car, you'll do better than low 12's to high 11's with those mods. You could hit low 11's easy.

Got any suggestions as to which "sticky" tires, yet safe in the rain?
TIA

Well, BFG DR's are not an option. :D I liked my Nitto 555's that I had a couple years ago. They are relatively sticky and they did well in the rain. I have the BFG's right now and I refuse to drive when it's wet out. Made that mistake once and almost found myself in a ditch.

Thanks for the honest reply on the BFG DRs doing badly in the rain.
Maybe my Kumho MX Ecsta tires will be okay with 400rwhp/rwtq & Vig2800 TC:confused:
I only want one set of tires for great street use, which my Kumhos provide, & every once in awhile track use, and my Kumhos hook up okay at the track. I just need more practice with my launches.
I'm kind of anxious to see how my Kumhos do with the added 40-50rwhp/rwtq & Vig2800.

Hey Steve,
I noticed a huge SOTP torque difference between the 2.73 rear & 3.42 rear. IMHO, the 3.15 should be standard & the 3.42 an option when buying at the Dealership. I've heard folks don't feel much of a difference from 3.15 to 3.42, though. However, your 3000TC will probably benefit & vice versa. BTW, at 75mph my tach is at 2200rpms, so the 3.42 gears are very hwy friendly.
I don't Know what is left on your C5 to be modded. Your C5 is an awesome personal creation. You may have found the point of no more revisions and now its time to enjoy. Nevertheless, mod fever is chronic but can be kept in remission with a lot of effort. :eyes:
BTW, this forum has the best collection of Smilies I've ever seen. My GF laughed & laughed at all of them for about 10 minutes. Ya'll have done an awesome job here.

What mods do you have already? With the timeslip #'s in your SIG you have some impressive power.
Curious, which cam will be going in your Z06 & will you be doing the install? Of course, you are someone else will tune that bad boy after the cam is installed, correct?
I always enjoy reading about other Corvette Enthusiast mods. However, I try to stay to on the objective side rather subjective. I've noticed on other Corvette forums (btw, put the two words together ;) ) some post get too subjective which sparks off flame wars. It is down right silly for Corvette Enthusiast to fight amongst themselves when we have the Stangs, Vipers, Porches, and, Ricers to contend with. Furthermore, I'll always be an FBody Enthusiast, so anytime I hear a Vette brother/sister talk down subjectively a TA or SS I get a little  . I'll stop rambling now, sorry about the little speech.

Curious, which stereo system is going your Vette? I could be wrong but seems like the sound system in my 02 TA was better than in my 01 C5 Coupe I have now. BTW, I sure miss the stereo controls being in the steering wheel like they were im my TA.

TIA For running low 11's at the track, BFG drag radials are about the least agressive drag tire you'd want to run.
They are not good in the rain, as already mentioned. Most people mount them on a spare set of 17" wheels and use them at the track only.

so do the people with 17's mount them at home and drive there or how do they haul em to the track? i wont be trailering my car

Thanks for the kind words, Cary. :)
I really do think I'm done modding the car except for possibly a few minor appearance mods. The car is just about where I want, still completely streetable, a good bit faster than "the average bear" as Yogi would say, and still great for taking on long trips like the Power Tour. I contemplated 3.73s, but decided against them and think that the 3.42s will better suit my goals.
The other incentive I have to stop modding is the 'Vette is now paid for as are all the mods (the mods only being a nearly 20K investment). As I may have mentioned to you, I sold the vacation home in WV and the first thing I did was take care of all debts related to my toy. :D
Regarding BFG drag radials:
I'm thinking about getting a dedicated set of wheels/DRs for the 'Vette, but I'll be buying the new type BFG DRs (g-Force I believe they're called) in 295/35R18. I saw a set of these at the BFG trailer while on last year's Hot Rod Power Tour and they looked awesome.
Here's a shot I took of them. As the C5 sizes/versions of this tire have absolutely no tread in the center, I'm guessing they wouldn't make the best wet road tire.

Well I can't do anthing more to my car than is done right now except tweek my SC as soon as I mount it and install my new headers ! Oh and I need a cage !! ASAP :D
Current Mods: Stg II big valve heads, W1 cam, Crap headers, LS6 intake, Ported TB, Vortech SC, 42 lb Injectors, FLP Level 4 Tranny, 3600 Stall, Hardend output shaft, 3.42 gears, Custom Magna flow Stainless exhaust with xpipe.
So my plans this year are to go ahread and build me a Fat motor I have already started buying parts for a 427 Low Compression SC motor and we'll turn up the boost on it to about 15psi and install a large water injection kit.
