Have a shot at picking up the above car with 131k on it and in pretty darn good shape. What is a reasonable price do y'all think? It is obviously a stripper model with nothing but tilt wheel and an aftermarket CD player. They are askng $4,995 but say it is negotiable.........any help is most appreciated.

Make sure it is a real 1LE. Good site for that is www.1LE.net ... The big front brakes and swaybars should be on a 1LE. The list of RPOs is on the console lid or the rear storage compartment lid (left rear of trunk area) and if it doesn't say 1LE then the price is too high.

Thanks, it is a real 1LE, I have seen (pics) of the RPO sticker in the console......I just don't know if I wanna spend that much on a stripper car or if I wanna keep looking for a similar '91-'92 (TPI/5-spd) car.

It is a ways away from me, but I have family/friends where it is located at if I decide I wanna go get it.........

 Saw your post over on thirdgen too. You'll have to decide whether a stripper is for you. I have a couple cars that are well optioned so my third car was a low options one.

I don't intend on driving it much, but I am spoiled and need my power everything. :rotfl:

Try camaros.net!

They have alot of 1-4th gen camaro's.

i will tell you. "If" you can hold out, i would for an L98 or LB9 with a T-5.

I had an 89 IROC with the T5 and the L98.
Stripper, VERY rare! i ordered it back in 1988.

in retrospect i wish i had kept it.
Not alot of HP! But it had tons of Tq!

Tell you what. I was looking to buy this car but i am deploying for the middle east in 2 weeks.

go to dealsonwheels.com go to chevrolet Camaro.
Scroll til you come to the 86 IROC ( Red) with the T5. the guy is asking $5K for it!

Good luck!

Good luck! Thx for the info/advice. I have had 3 3rd gens, an 85 with the LG4 and the 700R4, an 87 with the LB9 and the T5 and a 92 with the LB9 and the T5.....I wish I could have either of the last two back and I hate myself for getting rid of them, but I was young and stupid.........live, learn and pay the price for it I reckon. :sulk:
