Help!! New Clutch Problems

JUST INSTALLED A NEW SPEC STAGE II CLUTCH IN MY 99 Z28. I REPLACED THE SLAVE CYLINDER WITH A NEW GM ONE. HOWEVER, IT IS VERY HARD TO GET THE CAR IN GEAR NOW. 1ST AND REVERSE ESPECIALLY. WE HAVE BLED IT FOR 2 DAYS NOW OFF AND ON. COULD IT STILL HAVE AIR IN THE SYSTEM, OR SHOULD I TRY TO CHANGE THE MASTER CYLINDER. I WOULD GREATLY APPRECIATE ANY SUGGESTIONS. THANKS.

did you do the install your self, or did a shop do it? when you stopped bleeding the clutch, was there air still coming out? in any situation ive been told to swap out the master cylinder when getting a new clutch. i was highly recommended the mcleod adj. master cyl. which i plan on buyin very soon. i want to get a group purchase together with a few other people. if you are interested, please let me know so we can get something organized.

Also, is it just as hard to get the clutch to go in gear when the car is off, or is it just while running and when trying to match the input shaft( i think :think: ) to the flywheel.

Thanks for the reply. It ended up being the clutch master cylinder. I purchased the clutch from SPEC, and they said that I should replace the master cylinder during the install. I was kind of skeptical, but they ended up being right. I get a little chatter out of it still, but everyone that has a SPEC says that it does that for a while. Thanks again.

we usually dont see any chatter with the stage 2 from our experiences , but had had the problem you talked about but only with the stage 2 set up on 1 car and changing the master did the trick

So do u want to get in on a group purchase for the mcleod master cylinder? i need to get one too, and figured it would be benificial if we can buy it in bulk. Please let me know.

dont need an adjustable master for spec. especially a mcleod... ack!
