Does anyone know the best way to connect wires to the small pins on the underside of mini toggle switches? I have tried solder, heat shrink, the smallest female spade connectors I can find, duct tape, electrical tape...no good. Anyone have any special magic tricks? I want these permanently attached so they will NEVER come off!
Thanks! :hyper:

The mini toggle swithches are a bugger but soldering should work the best. Dont know how good you are at soldering but here is a little tip for you. Make sure you get both junctions you want to join hot or the solder wont stick. Just be careful not to get the pin on the mini switch too hot or you will damage the switch.

Thanks for the tip. The problem I was having before was I would get the pin too hot and it would melt the plastic that it was set in in the switch. I guess I will have to be more careful!

to prevent that i would always melt the solder onto the tip of the iron, let it liquify, then quickly dab it on the connection and pull the tip away... it works 9 times out of 10.. on the 1 failure, just repeat and it'll work the next time ;)

for little tiny switches i don't bother with solder. i strip about 1/4-3/8" inch of insulator off, stick the wire through the hole in the switch blade and fold it over. slide the heatshrink up and shrink it. since the wire is light and unlikley to move any great amount then i don't worry about it coming free. the reason for folding it is it creates a hook then the heatshrink makes it much much much harder for the wire to move and the hook to unhook.
