Headers on my v6?

I have a 3800 v6 in my 95 camaro w/ flowmaster exhaust. It sounds good with the flowmaster, but i want it to sound better. I was trying to find some things that would do it.. and my friend said that i should put headers on my car. I dont really think that it's gonna work because headers on a v6 produce the same type of sound that my flowmaster produces and i just think that it's gonna sound worst.. what's your opinion? :confused:

I have a Hooker Cat-back on my car, and headers made it sound better. I've found the key to making these cars sound good is a cat. The cars sound best with the stock cat, and the worst with no cat at all.

I have Rk Sports w/ 3" American Thunder on my car if you want to hear what that sounds like download my racing clip, the last race where I raced the mustang GT gives you a good idea of the sound. It sounds even better since my cam install. But I was happy with the sound both ways.

your friend that told you to put headers on your car is a pretty smart guy!!! I would listen to him if you want your car to sound better;) and perform better as well:drive: Get the headers for your car and you will thank him in the long run!!!:D if you can afford it get coated headers!!! last longer....

You could try a cutout. I put one right before the rear axle with the stock cat still in place and I am very pleased with the way it sounds. Although anything above 3500rpm and it starts to sounds like a v6 on crack. just a way to save $300 if all your after is sound:)
