Who Would Win?

I have been arguing for hours with a friend of mine about whos car is faster in the quarter mile.

I have an LS1 1999 Z28 A4 with a Lid/Bellows/E-Cutout/Ram Air Mod.

He has a 1972 Monte Carlo SS (140k miles on it) Completely bone stock without the slightest modification. He claimes it has a 350/350 but he doesnt really know. It does have the 350/ Automatic Transmission.

Shouldnt my LS1 take his old monte? Give me your opinions...

How much hp do you think I have (not rear wheel but just raw hp from engine).

He wouldnt race me because he said I wouldnt stand a chance, he wants to put money on it. (He thinks my car has 275 hp for some reason dispite my arguing.)

What hp should I really have? LS1 says 345?

The monte is in insanly good condition, looks brand new, power windows, the works, its very cool for its age. I will make sure i tear him a new one if he will let me race him...

Running for pink slips is the dumbest thing I have ever heard. I wouldnt race a Cub Cadet lawn mower for pink slips, you either gain a slow car, or lose a fast one, doesnt make much since to me if you are in love with your car. I'll bet its one hell of a rush though.

Have you taken your car to the track at all??? If so what are the number, if you havent, your sitting on a 13 sec car.. that Mont, runs at the best in the 16's I have a buddie with a 69 Firebird stock 350 with the stock auto trannie, he thinks he's fast, let me put it this way, I raced him from a 20mph roll, I put AT LEAST 15 cars on him.. and you know the Bird weights about the same if not less then this Mont. (I let off about 120mph, he said he raced untill about 100mph.)

Dude, if I was around you with my stock Z, I'd bet $500 on this race all day long!!!!! Not to race him will make you look like a fool imo. :cool:

My mom had a 72 impala I drove to high school some it had a 350 ci motor in it hp was 165, it was a dog, big time smog motor.

ps the car was new back then.
