I'll start. I've got 54,400 miles on the 1997.

You bastids! lol, don't you ever drive your cars? Oh, that's right, in ND you only have something like 4 months a year of kind weather?

I still don't understand the point of buying a car if you aren't going to drive it. I mean, maybe I could understand an Enzo or something, but a car like yours ain't doing any good sitting there. No offense to you, because I love LT1 T/A's, but it's not exactly the kind of car I would be trying desperately to preserve. Drive it like it wants to be driven

I bought it with low miles. The person who owned it before me had a 10 second 69 big block Camaro, a crotch rocket of some kind, and was looking for a down payment on a Z06, he had more than enough toys, thats why he was selling this, because he never really used it. I have another car that I allready have that I can drive everyday, why not drive that when it is harsh out. Cars/truck that are driven all year start to get body rust within 5-10 years easilly. I'm not saying my car is something special, its just I like it and I don't want it to go to hell like most peoples cars here do. It sickens me when I see LS1's, NSX's and even vipers that have body rust on them allready. I would rather than not happen to my car.

Edit: Besides, nitto 315's don't work very well in the winter :p

Hmm... well we've got a factory LT1 still in the crate at the shop, never run. Can't be too many more 0 run time LT1s left.
As for cars... I think Geoff's 95 Z has around 12,000 on it.

How much does a brand new crate LT1 cost Steve? (not that I need one, my LT1 is running better than ever with almost 100k on it and my latest oil analysis results show it's going to last much longer!)

Is all the analysis really worth the extra 1000 miles you're going to get out of your motor over someone that uses mobil 1 and a any half-ass good filter. yours will last 250,000 miles, where mine will quit somewhere around 249,000. I'm happy with that. something tells me it will get rebuilt before then anyway, or I'll blow it up with some sort of forced induction :D

Honestly, the oil analysis I'm doing is not so much for me to try and get the most mileage out of this engine as it is just for information and entertainment really. Being a big part of BOBISTHEOILGUY.com, I can't help but try and do my best to get a good oil analysis report to post on there. So that's a big incentive to switching oils like I've done a few times until I found my current favorite.

Chances are very good that this engine will last me much longer than I'll be keeping the car for, no matter what oil I choose, since my plan is to get a C5 in about 3 years. I'm sure my engine will still be kicking around then. But you never know, if my plans get sidetracked and I end up keeping this car longer, it's nice to know I'm going to be able to get long life out of the engine.

I like driving my 93, just not every day in stupid Houston traffic or in the rain. I sorta like keeping it a weekend car though its my only car so that point is defeated.

47,000 miles on my '95 Formula.

Not a single problem yet. All I've replaced is the battery and the serpentine belt.

I'm pretty sure (99%) the LT1 is no longer available from GM. If someone needs to re-engine their car their choice is an outrageously overpriced GM LT4 crate motor or find a remanufactured LT1.

54k when I bought my car in 2000, 87k now in 04, and believe it or not, this is my daily driver. Sucks driving in the rain with the air filter so close to the ground, but I drive like an old bag when it rains, so I have a soft foot on those very few days here in CA.

My '97 SS has 21,700. :dunno: I bought it 2 years ago with 17,000 on her. The guy ordered it new in '97 and only drove it in the summer time, stored it in winter. The car still smells brand new, and is barely "broken in". Fortunately, I am doing my part to break her in. :drive:
