I installed a ported TB on Sunday, it is a nice improvement in looks and SOTP.
The RPMs seem to hang just a little when coming to a stop. Car is an A4 w/ a 2.8 STR converter, so it seems to push through the brakes just a little. The idle comes back to normal after stopping, but I like to get rid of the problem all together. Any ideas?

I the TB Blade closing all of the way. May want to shoot the spring with some lubricant spray and see if that helps. I had a similar problem on my Ford Probe.

I notice this same issue with my stock TB. I have an M6 and when I have the car in neutral and am slowly coming to a stop, the RPM's will be at about 950rpm and once I come to a complete stop, they drop to the normal 800rpm or so. I just figured it was normal.

mine has done the same thing on my m6 since it was stock and it still does it now after my ported tb:( I guess it just normal. Check and make sure it doesnt have a bunch of build up preventing it from properly sealing;)

It is brand new, so I know it is clean. I will try to lube it and see if that helps…

I used silicone spray once in awhile and never had any issues after that.

I'll have to shoot some lube on mine as well to see if it helps... always thought it was normal because it's done it as long as I can remember. :dunce:

It's normal in a M6 for the RPMs to hang when you are in neutral and the car is still moving. It makes shifts smoother during every-day driving. I don't know about automatics though, who would buy those?! ;)

check your IAC count. I had mine ported and after I did my IAC count was "0"at idle. This means that the IAC motor has closed the IAC opening COMPLETELY and can't adjust any more to let less air in. More than likely when you had it ported they opened up the opening around your TB blade just a hair, but it's enough to let in more air which means a higher idle. Your IAC motor will try to let less air in (this is why you have a lower IAC count), but when you reach "0" it can't adjust anymore.
What I did was sent my TB back to the person who ported it and had them weld that little hole in the plate up completely. When I get my car back out of stotage I should have a lot higher IAC count and if it's too high I will drill my own smaller hole in it to get my IAC count where it should be....30-40

It is all good now. It just took a few miles for the car to get used to it I guess. I am more than happy with this mod!
